Volume of a Cuboid
1 cm
A unit cube has its each edge 1 cm. 1 cm

Think of the volume of a cuboid with size 8 cm by 5 cm by 3 cm.
3 cm
5 cm
8 cm
Place the number of unit cubes in the cuboid layerwise.
8 × 5 × 1 = 40 cubes 40 × 2 = 80 cubes 40 × 3 = 120 cubes
in 1 layer in 2 layers in 3 layers
Since volume of 1 unit cube is 1 cu. cm, volume of the cuboid = 120 cu. cm.
Also, product of 8 cm × 5 cm × 3 cm = 120 cu. cm
Volume of the cuboid = Length × Breadth × Height
i.e., V = lbh
Volume V
Moreover, Length = or l =
Breadth× Height bh
Volume V
Breadth = or b =
Length × Height lh
Volume V
and Height = or h =
Length × Breadth lb
