Divisibility Tests
We know that a number is said to be divisible if it is divided by numbers
without leaving any remainder. Divisibility tests help us in finding whether
a number is divisible by a given number or not without performing actual
division.
Let us know it with examples.
Divisibility by Rules Examples
2 The number ends with digits 40, 52, 68, 176, 214, etc.
0, 2, 4, 6 or 8.
10 The number has ones digit 0. 20, 110, 2460, 5000, etc.
5 The number ends with 0 or 5. 15, 65, 100, 235, 4060, etc.
3 The sum of digits of the 45 (4 + 5 = 9), 123 (1 + 2
number should be divisible + 3 = 6), 807 (8 + 0 + 7 =
by 3. 15), etc.
9 The sum of digits of the 18 (1 + 8 = 9), 126 (1 + 2
number should be divisible + 6 = 9), 495 (4 + 9 + 5 =
by 9. 18), etc.
