Shridhi went to bring flowers of different colours from her garden. She
plucked some flowers which are given below.
Shridhi’s brother asked her about the number of flowers she plucked.
She was not able to explain her collection, so she asked her mother for
help. Her mother explained her a very interesting idea. It was the use of
tally marks.
Tally marks are bars or strokes which are drawn for each item. They are written
as for 1 item, for 2 items, for 3 items, for 4 items and for 5 items.
For more tallies, 6 is indicated as , 8 as and so on.
Now, Shridhi organised her data as follows:
