Rain helps farmers grow crops and gives us water

to drink. Heavy rain causes floods which ruin
        the crops, animals and property.

        Snow

In colder regions such as mountains, at very low
temperature, water vapour in the clouds freezes

into ice crystals that fall down as snowflakes or Snowfall
snow. Heavy snowfall disturbs life. It damages

plants, power lines and water pipelines.

        Hailstones

When raindrops pass through very cold regions
of the Earth’s atmosphere, they freeze into small

round balls of ice and fall down as hailstones.
Hailstorm kills birds and animals and damages

        plants, crops and property.

        Dew Hailstones

On winter mornings, you might have seen the

grass, flowers and leaves having water droplets
on their surfaces. At night, these plant parts

lose heat faster and become colder than the
surrounding air. When the water vapour comes

in contact with these cold parts of the plant, it Dew on the leaves
changes into droplets of water called dew.

        Fog
Fog is a thick cloud of small water droplets

suspended in the air at or very close to the land

or sea. Fog reduces visibility. This often happens
        in winters.

        Frost The fog reduces visibility
Frost is a thin white layer of ice that forms on the open ground at night when

        temperature drops below 0°C.
