 Snakes have poisonous teeth called

fangs. When they are in danger
or attacked by the predator, they

                    inject deadly poison into the
                    body of the predator.

 Animals such as beetles pretend Scorpion Wasp

to be dead to trick their enemies.

 The house lizard breaks off its
tail when attacked by its enemy.

The tail continues to move itself
                    while the lizard escapes. The

lizard grows a new tail later. Fangs of snake Lizard with broken tail

                 Animals like millipede and
                    pangolin curl up their bodies

                    when attacked. They cheat their
                    enemies by pretending a different

                    body shape.
                                                                         Millipede Pangolin
                 Animals like cuttlefish and
octopus release a cloud of black

                    ink-like substance when attacked.
                    This creates confusion for the

predator and they find time to
                    escape.
                                                                         Cuttlefish Octopus
                 Animals like grasshoppers

                    conceal their presence in their
                    surroundings due to their body

colour. It is not easy to locate
                    a green grasshopper on green

                    grass.
                                                                       Grasshopper Chameleon
 Animals like the chameleon have

the ability to change their body colour according to their surroundings, so that they

become unnoticeable to their enemies. This particular skill or behaviour is called
                    camouflage.
