Time Period Between Two Dates
In the previous classes, we learnt how to write the dates of certain events,
for example, India became independent on 15th August 1947 or 15-08-1947
and India was declared a republic on 26th January 1950 or 26-01-1950.
Can you tell the time period between these two dates?
Write the later date in the first row and earlier date in the second row
as follows:
Year Month Day
Republic Day → 1950 01 26 1 < 8, borrow 1 year or 12
months from 1950 and regroup
Independence Day → 1947 08 15 with 1 month.
12 + 1 = 13 and 13 – 8 = 5

and 1949 – 1947 = 2 years
\ Period = 2 years 5 months 11 days
Now, calculate your age on 1st January 2024.
