MATHS LAB ACTIVITY • Experiential Learning

Aim: To build and interpret a bar graph

Materials: A chart paper, cards of 12 different colours in the size of a matchbox
face, a ruler, a pencil, sketch pens, glue

Note: Perform this activity in a group of 4-5 students.

Method:

1. Take a chart paper, a ruler and a pencil. Then, make 12 rows with 10
blocks each as shown here.

2. Ask your classmates about the month in which they were born.

3. Give a colour card for a particular month to write his/her name, e.g.,
Pink – January, Yellow – February and so on.

4. Using glue, paste their names against the months written on the chart

paper.

You should start pasting the names from left to right.
