Shoma realised that she needed to work extremely hard and with
complete dedication to do well in any sport. She rested for a while
and took a nap. Once awake, she watched TV for some time. Serena
Williams was playing at Wimbledon and she won the trophy.
Later, Shoma began reading the encyclopaedia. Soon, her mother
called, “Shoma, can you come and tidy this room?” “I will, Mom. Just
let me read about Serena Williams.” “Oh! So you want to know about
her after watching the match, I guess.”
“Yes, Mom.”
Shoma began to read:
“Serena Jameka Williams
was born in September 1981
at Michigan in the United
States of America. She is an
American professional tennis
player. The Women’s Tennis
Association (WTA) ranked
her world No. 1 in singles on eight occasions between 2002 and 2017.
She became the world No. 1 for the first time in July 2002.
“She has been the female player to hold all four Grand Slam titles
simultaneously many times. With her sister, Venus Williams, she has
held four Grand Slam women’s doubles titles simultaneously.”
“Serena has won an all-time record of 13 Grand Slam singles titles on
hard court. She has also won 14 Grand
Slam doubles titles with her sister, Venus.” dedication devotion and
commitment
After reading this, Shoma put the book Grand Slam a set of major
championships or matches in a
down and wondered how she could reach particular sport in the same year,
