L and 225 L were filled. How much water was left in the tank?

36 kg 5 hg went for a ride in the amusement park. There was a restriction
that it can carry only two people not exceeding 70 kg together. Decide

which two cannot go on that ride together?

Multiplication and Division of Metric Measures

We can multiply or divide metric measures like whole numbers using place

value or like decimals by converting it into a single unit.

Example 6: Multiply 1 kg 3 hg 5 dag 7 g by 4 using place value.

Solution: Arrange the numbers properly and multiply.

Express the result in the given units.

Thus, 1 kg 3 hg 5 dag 7 g × 4 = 5 kg 4 hg 2 dag 8 g

Example 7: Multiply 3 L 6 dL 3 cL 4 mL by 12 and express your result

in litres.

Solution: As 3 L 6 dL 3 cL 4 mL = 3.634 L

So multiply 3.634 × 12
