BALANCED DIET
A diet containing all the nutrients in right amounts as per the requirement of
the body is called a balanced diet.
The contents of a balanced diet differ from person to
person. It depends on the age and gender of the person,
health conditions and how much work a person does.
For example, a labourer needs more carbohydrates and
fats in the diet than a person doing paper-pen work
in an office. Similarly, the diet of a person who has
fallen sick and is just recovering from illness, needs
to have more of vitamins, minerals and less of fats. Growing children need lots
of proteins in their diet, besides a balance of all other nutrients.
EXERCISE
Exercise is as important as a balanced diet to keep the body
healthy. Exercising daily helps in proper digestion of our
food, specially fats. It makes us feel energetic and active.
It helps us tone our muscles, stay lean and give our body
a graceful appearance. It helps in good blood circulation
and enables our heart and lungs to work efficiently.
REST AND SLEEP
We get tired after doing work throughout the day. So,
our body needs rest. The rest can be done in a number
of ways. We can relax by lying down, listening to the
music, watching television or reading a book.
