 Wearing long-sleeved clothes and full leggings protect us from the bites of

mosquitoes and other insects. Hence, clothes protect us from insect bites.

 Besides these, well-stitched clothes make us look smart.

                                MATERIALS USED FOR MAKING CLOTHES

Clothes are made of two main
               types of fibres—Natural fibres and

               synthetic fibres.

Natural fibres like cotton, jute and
               linen are obtained from plants,

whereas wool, silk and fur are Sheep hair Wool threads
               obtained from animals.

               Synthetic fibres like nylon, rayon

               and polyester are made from
               different chemicals in factories.

They are also called man-made Cotton Cotton fibre Cotton thread
fibres. Synthetic clothes are stretchable and wrinkle-free. They

catch fire easily. Also they dry fast. Since synthetic fabrics are
non-porous and waterproof, they are used to make umbrellas

               and raincoats. Synthetic cloth

                                         CLOTHES OF DIFFERENT TYPES

We wear clothes according to the

season and occasion. We do not

               and a party-wear in school.

               Also, people living in different

               states wear different types of
clothes. People wear different types of clothes
