MATHS LAB ACTIVITY • Experiential Learning
Aim: To determine the centre and the radius of a circle
Materials: A paper plate, a pair of scissors, a marker/pencil and a ruler
Method:
1. Take a paper plate and find the outline of a circle made on
it.
2. Using a pair of scissors, cut the outer part of this plate

4. Unfold the cut-out and mark the point where two

creases cross each other as the centre. Name the
centre as O and other four segments OA, OB, OC
and OD as radii. A O B
5. Measure the line segments OA, OB, OC and OD. Are
these line segments equal? D
Observation:
1. OA = OB = OC = OD = cm
2. OA = AB or AB = OA
