STEM ACTIVITY

To build the understanding of shapes

1. Make a 40 cm long bridge that can hold the weight of toy car easily.

2. Discuss with your teacher or parents about the strong and weak shapes.

3. If you are using rectangular and triangular shapes to build the bridge,

then write the name of weak shape.

4. First sketch design of your bridge on a paper.

5. Try to use triangular supports on sides or bottom of the bridge.

6. Chose an appropriate material to build the bridge and ensure that both

ends of the bridge are on two‘banks’ like tables/books/chairs.

7. To test the strength of the bridge put the weight (toy car, erasers,

sharpeners, etc.) slowly on top of the bridge.
