Circles
We are already familiar with circular objects like coins, bangles, wheels,
carom counters, etc. If we trace outlines of these objects, we get the
shape of a circle.
Drawing a Circle
A circle can be drawn using a circular object in free hand or by other aids.
Using a Circular Object
Trace a circle using a coin, a bangle, a battery, etc.
Using a nail, a string and a pencil.
Take a string and tie its one end to a nail or a drawing pin. Take a pencil
and tie it to the other end of the string.
Pierce the nail in the middle and move the pencil, keeping the string
stretched.
Using a pair of Compasses
To construct a circle using a pair of compasses, let us follow these steps:
Fix a pencil with a sharp tip into a pair of compasses in
such a way that the pencil tip is at the level of the metal
tip.
Open the pair of compasses up to a convenient length.
Mark a point, say O, on the paper and put the
metal tip on it.
