So, 300 × 750 = 225000. (225 followed by three zeros)

Let us count the number of zeros.

2110 has one zero, 900 has two zeros.

Total number of zeros is three. (1 + 2)

211 × 9 = 1899

So, 2110 × 900 = 1899000. (1899 followed by three
zeros)

Multiplication Stories

Example 6: A boy has 7 packets. Each packet has 16 pens. How

many pens does the boy have?

Solution: Total number of pens

= 16 + 16 + 16 + 16 + 16 + 16 + 16 (7 times)

= 16 × 7

= 112 (see table of multiplication facts)

Example 7: Each box has 13250 screws. How many screws will 12 such
boxes have?
