Example 5: Multiply.

(a) 13000 by 20 (b) 300 by 750 (c) 2110 by 900

Solution: (a) 13000 × 20

Let us count the number of zeros.

13000 has three zeros, 20 has one zero.

Total number of zeros is four. (3 + 1)

13 × 2 = 26

So, 13000 × 20 = 260000. (26 followed by four zeros)

(b) 300 × 750

Let us count the number of zeros.

300 has two zeros, 750 has one zero.
