Addition And Subtraction Together

Some situations may involve addition and subtraction together.

Price of a refrigerator was `57965 two years ago. Last year it increased by

`7074 but this year it decreased by `3125.

To find the current price of the refrigerator we have to add as well as
subtract.

Let us go through the following examples.

Example 19: Simplify: 47479 + 32555 – 61057

Solution: First term has no sign before it. It is taken as +.

Add the terms with plus sign and then subtract the term

with minus sign.

Example 20: Price of a computer was `127965 two years ago. Last
