EXERCISE 1.5

               Fill in the blanks.

                     1. 1363 ÷ 1363 = 2. 2446 ÷ 2446 =

                     3. 3416 ÷ = 1 4. 4188 ÷ = 1

                     5. ÷ 5345 = 1 6. ÷ 6441 = 1

                     7. 7264 ÷ 1 = 8. 8215 ÷ 1 =

                     9. 9527 ÷ = 9527 10. 1424 ÷ = 1424

                    11. ÷ 1 = 2257 12. ÷ 1 = 3738

MATHS LAB ACTIVITY • Experiential Learning

Aim: To develop the knowledge of contribution and distribution.
Materials: 100 counters or beads for each group, paper and pencil.

Note: Perform the activity in groups of 10.

Method: Teacher’s guide: Divide the class into groups of 10
each. Provide 10 beads to each student. Ask the students to

               sit in a circle.

                     1. Start the game with 1 student. He puts 1 bead and
count the number of total beads as 1. Share the
total beads equally among the students who contributed. In case of 1

student only, this will be as follow:

Contribution Total bead Student Q R

                          Round 1 1 1 ÷ 1 = 1 0

Here, only 1 student will share, so he keeps this bead with himself.

                     2. Then, play with two students. Now, the first student keeps 1 bead and
second student keeps 2 beads. Find the total and then share equally
among the two. If remainder is left, give it to whom who has less beads.

Contribution Total beads Students Q R

                          Round 2 1 + 2 3 ÷ 2 = 1 1

                     3. Repeat this activity among 3, 4, 5,...,10 students. Each time, check the
remainder and give it to the player with the least beads. If two or more

players are with the least beads, distribute among them equally.
