The process of sending and receiving messages is called communication.
We can send and receive messages through letters, telephone, fax and
e-mails. These are the means of personal communication. Sometimes,
we want to contact a large number of people at a time. We can do it
through newspapers, radio, television, etc. These are the means of mass
communication.
Personal Communication
Many years ago, pigeons were used to
bring and deliver messages from one
place to another. Later on, men used
to run on foot or ride animals to bring
and deliver messages. Such methods were
slow and took a long time.
The most popular means of communication
is the letter. We can buy postcards,
inland letters, envelopes and stamps from the post office. The letters
are sent through the post office. The urgent letters can be sent through
speed post or courier services. India has the largest postal service in
the world.

short and brief. The messages can be instantly sent through fax machine
and e-mail.
