What is the woman doing in the picture?

The work we do to earn money for our livelihood is our occupation. Some
important occupations are farming, forestry, fishing, mining, manufacturing,

trading, etc. We choose our occupation according to our skills and needs.

Farming

Farming is the main occupation of people
in the villages. The farmers grow a variety

of crops such as rice, wheat, maize, millets,
pulses, oilseeds, fruits, vegetables, sugar cane,

tea, coffee, cotton, jute, spices, etc. When the
crops are ripe, they are harvested and then

the crops are cleaned and sent to the markets
for sale.
