Nouns
We already know that common nouns are names of persons, places, animals or things.

Examples: teacher, classroom, chimpanzee, pencils

Proper nouns are special names of particular persons, places, animals or things. A special
name always beings with a capital letter. Examples: Chitra, Kolkata, Goa, India, Baby
Chimp, Natraj pencil

Collective Nouns

a team of players a fleet of ships a herd of sheep

All the underlined words given above are collective nouns. We use collective nouns for
a group of people, animals or things.
