Do you know where water comes from?

Water comes from rain. When it rains, the rainwater gets

collected in ponds, lakes, rivers and seas. Some water is found

on mountains in the form of snow and ice.

When the snow melts,

water flows down into

rivers and streams.
Some rivers form

waterfalls on their way.

Some rainwater also

goes into the soil. This

water collects under the
ground. People dig wells Handpump Well

and tubewells to get groundwater. A handpump is commonly

used to get groundwater in villages.
