Land Transport
In cities and towns, cars, buses,
scooters, motorcycles, autorickshaws and
metro trains are the main means of land
transport.
In villages, bicycles, tongas and bullock-
carts are the main means of land

Trains are the fastest means of land transport. Trains that
carry passengers are called passenger trains. These are good
and safe for travelling long distances. Things like salt, coal,
foodgrains, oil and animals are transported by goods trains.
In Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru, we have metro
trains for local transport.
