Religious Festivals

We celebrate many religious festivals with our friends and

family members. We decorate our homes. Special food is
cooked on festivals. Diwali, Gurpurabs, Christmas and Eid

are some religious festivals.

Diwali

Diwali is the festival of lights. People

decorate their homes with candles and
diyas. People worship Goddess Lakshmi

on this day. They give sweets and gifts to

their relatives and friends.

Gurpurabs

Gurpurabs are celebrated as the

birthdays of the Sikh Gurus. On

this day, people go to a gurudwara

and pray to the Guru Granth Sahib.
Processions are taken out. People

eat from a common kitchen called

langar.

Christmas

Christmas is celebrated on 25 December

every year. It is the birthday of Jesus

Christ. On this day, people go to a
church. They decorate their homes,

Christmas Tree and sing carols.
