On 9 March 2020, Avani
Chaturvedi was awarded the

Nari Shakti Puraskar by the
then President of India, Ram

Nath Kovind. During ‘Mann Ki Baat,’ Prime Minister Narendra Modi
also congratulated her, Bhawana Kanth as well as Mohana Singh after

they became fighter pilots. They all had undergone a rigorous training
programme to fly fighter jets.

Avani Chaturvedi’s parents are very proud of their daughter. It was
a challenging experience to fly a fighter aircraft solo. Her father said,

“It’s a really proud moment for all of us; even more because our
daughter chose to serve the nation.”

In one of the interviews, Avani Chaturvedi said, “After flying solo,

after coming back, getting out of the cockpit, the feeling was,… ‘yes’,

you have taken the first step nicely… Risk is involved in every walk
of life … Yes, being a combat pilot you are directly involved with the
risk, but then, we are well-trained for it.

“So, our training is very well structured. So, all of us, when we reach
that stage, we all are confident enough, and … competent enough to

take on any mission.”

She also added, “I have stayed in very small places but people around

me were very motivating … So, … it was
disaster a sudden accident
