Avani Chaturvedi was born
on 27 October 1993 in Rewa,

Madhya Pradesh. Her father,
Dinkar Chaturvedi, is a

superintending engineer in the
Water Resource Department of

the Madhya Pradesh government.
Her mother, Savita Chaturvedi, is a homemaker. Avani completed her

schooling from Deoland, a small town in Shahdol district of Madhya
Pradesh. She completed her Bachelors in Technology from Banasthali

University, Rajasthan, in 2014. She had joined the flying club at her
college, which fascinated and prompted her to fly.

Avani’s elder brother is an officer in the Indian Army. He inspired
her to join the Indian Air Force (IAF). She also had flying experience

in the flying club of her college, which had also motivated her to
join the IAF. Avani was selected to train at Hyderabad’s Air Force

Academy. She is one of the three in the first batch of female pilots,
besides Bhawana Kanth and Mohana Singh, to be inducted in the

Indian Air Force fighter squadron inspiration the process of being
