Who ruled India during 19th century?

                           1. 2. 3.

In the past, India was well-known in the world for textiles, silk, jewellery,

handicrafts and spices. The Romans, Greeks and Arabs used to trade
with India. In the 16th century, traders from Portugal, Holland, France

and England started visiting India. Each one of them wanted to make
               the maximum profit.

They fought among themselves to control
the trade. Finally, the British won over the

               other European countries and established
the British East India Company in 1600.

The company got the exclusive rights from
Queen Elizabeth to trade in the east. They

bought goods at a cheap rate and sold them
at a high rate in Europe. Headquarters of the British East India
