Many organisations work for animal
welfare. These organisations rescue
animals and take care of those in
distress or who have suffered injury.
They keep them in protected areas
and also look after abandoned pets.
Even wild animals are rehabilitated
in order to help them survive. Some such organisations are Wildlife
Trust of India, Friendicoes and Peta India.
A. Sit in groups of four and discuss why animal welfare is
important, especially in today’s time. Would you like to help
animals?
B. Find out the names of similar organisations (any four) that work
for animal welfare. Collect information about their contribution
towards animal welfare. Share it with group members and the
class. Display pictures on the class Display Board. You may refer
to magazines, newspapers or the Internet to find out the details.
