Teacher wants students to know
What do stomata do? how plants make their food.

Let us know how plants make their food.
Plants make food by combining water
and carbon dioxide gas in the presence
                                                              of sunlight and chlorophyll.

Stomata are like windows of a
leaf. They help in the exchange of
                gases and water vapour between
the leaf and the surrounding air.

           • Plants take water and minerals
             through root hair from soil.
           • They take carbon dioxide gas
             from air through stomata.

           • Chlorophyll present in green
             leaves takes energy from
             sunlight.

           • Then, carbon dioxide and water
             are combined by taking energy
             trapped by chlorophyll to make
             food.

           • The food made is a kind of
             sugar. It is called glucose.
