STEM ACTIVITY 2

To understand addition, multiplication and patterns creatively

1. Write the numbers 3, 6, 9, 12, …, etc. on different paper cups.

2. Stack the cups in rows, for example:

 1st row = 3 cups

 2nd row = 6 cups

 3rd row = 9 cups

 4th row = 12 cups

3. Count the total number of cups in each row and write the addition in
following way:

 3

 3 + 6 = 9

 3 + 6 + 9 = 18

 3 + 6 + 9 + 12 = 30

4. See the multiplication table of 3 (3 × 1 = 3, 3 × 2 = 6, 3 × 3 = 9, 3 × 4

= 12, …).
