MATHS LAB ACTIVITY • Experiential learning

Aim: To reinforce the practice of doing multiplication fast and correct
        in kids

Materials: Set of slips with multiplication sums and results on them,
        paper and a pencil

Preparation (teacher’s guide): Prepare few sets of 10 slips. Write

5 multiplication sums and their answers for each set. For example,

               5 × 90 36 × 8 135 × 4 78 × 6 3 × 300

                 540 468 900 288 450

        Method:
            1. Divide the class into groups of 4–5 students.

            2. Provide them 1 set of slips including sums and their results.

            3. Ask them to arrange the sums and results in five rows in such

a way that they make multiplication facts.

            4. Ask them to do calculation in their notebooks.
            5. Announce the group who completes the jobs correctly first as

                 the winner of the round.

The given slips can be shown as:

        Row 1 5 × 90 = 450 Row 2 36 × 8 = 288

        Row 3 135 × 4 = 540 Row 4 78 × 6 = 468

        Row 5 3 × 300 = 900

Note: After collection of the slips, make different sets and redistribute

        for the next round.
THINK AND ANSWER • Logical reasoning

What will be the ones digit of the following.

              1. 32 × 7 : 2. 80 × 9 : 3. 104 × 8 :

              4. 205 × 3 : 5. 161 × 6 :
