Action Words (Verbs)
Read these sentences.
1. Bholaram repairs toys.
2. The toys talk at night.
The words repairs and talk are action words.
Action words tell us about what someone or something does. They are also
called doing words. All doing words are called verbs.
When one person does an action, the action word ends with –s or –es.
(Sentence 1)
When more than one person does the action, the action word does not end
with –s or –es. (Sentence 2)
Sometimes, we use action words to tell about actions that take place every day.
Examples : 1. He washes his hands with soap and water.
2. We wash our hands with soap and water.
