Why does Reema feel so? There is a story behind it.
One day, Reema was coming back from her school.
Suddenly, it started raining.
Reema quickly entered a nearby house.
It was Rashmi’s house.
Rashmi was her friend.
Rashmi’s mother said, “Do not worry. Now you are safe
inside the house.”
Reema replied, “Yes, aunty. The house protects us from
rain.”
Rashmi added, “Not only rain, it also protects us from
heat and cold.”
Rashmi’s mother said, “A house also protects us from
wild animals and thieves.”
Types of Houses
Long, long ago, people lived in caves
to protect themselves.
Then, people learnt to make houses.
They used different materials to
build their houses. People used mud,
tree leaves and branches to build
their houses. These houses protected
them from heat, rain, cold and wild
animals.
