                                                                                            • Using describing words in sentences

 Sometimes, we make new words by adding -y to them. They may function
                   as describing words (adjectives).

                  Examples: cloud + -y = cloudy

                                    rain + -y = rainy

 To form some new words, we have to

remove the last letter and add -y.

                Examples: ice + -y = icy; shade + -y = shady

                A. Add -y to the given words to form describing words (adjectives).

                     1. Wind 2. Sweat

                     3. Luck 4. Salt

                     5. Snow 6. Stone

                B. Use any two of these describing words in your own sentences.

                                                                                                      • Communication Skills
               Listen and Learn • Creativity

                                                                                   • Listening to instructions and colouring a picture

                A. Your teacher will read out
                     some instructions from the

                     listening text. Listen to them
                     carefully and then colour

                     the picture. You may note
                     down the colours as you

                     listen to the instructions and
fill in the colours after the

                     instructions are completed.

Now, show the picture to your
                     partner.
