4 – 4 = 0 (4 is subtracted fifth time)

We say 20 ÷ 4 = . ( divided by is )

Division Using Number Line

Suppose we have to divide 8 by 2.

We start from 8 and hop back 2 units at a time till we reach 0.

We note that it took 4 hops to reach 0.

Hence 8 ÷ 2 = 4 [number of hops is the answer]
