REMEMBER
A clause consists of a group of words consisting of a subject and a verb. If it makes complete
sense, we consider it as an independent clause or the main clause. If it depends on other
words to convey a complete meaning, we consider it as a dependent or subordinate clause. A
subordinating conjunction is used with this kind of a clause.
Example: The doctor came when we called him.
