Let’s read about some marvellous pets, famous for their timely help
that saved the lives of people.
A. Oreo is the family cat of Dianne Busscher,
who was woken up at 4:45 a.m. one morning,
by her pet’s cries from the garage. She went
downstairs to find out if everything was all
right. She saw flames and smoke but managed
to grab the cat. She ran back and woke up
her husband and children. The fire destroyed
the garage and a bedroom, but none of the
family members were harmed.
B. Brenda Owen had gone out for a
walk with her dog, Penny, when
she spotted a wheelchair on the
riverbank. She saw a woman in
the river. She called out to her
but got no response. So, she told
her dog Penny, “Fetch! Fetch!”
The dog ran into the river, swam
to the woman and pulled her
to the shore. She was rescued
from getting drowned. Brenda
praised Penny and said that he
had always been a very obedient
and fit dog.
