A. Imagine your best friend, who is going to live in another city, visits you. She likes a
story book/scarf/pen/silk pouch from your collection and praises it. You happily
give it to her as a parting gift. She smiles and thanks you. You feel glad about it.
Write a letter to your grandmother and tell her how you felt after giving the gift.
Also mention what you realised—that giving brings great joy, both to the receiver,
and giver.
Read a sample letter given here. It is written by a girl to her friend.

Dear Shruti, Salutation
I am very happy to know that you have joined an NGO as a volunteer
to help the needy children on Sundays. It is great to give your time,
love and care to make a difference in their lives.
Last Sunday, some children and ladies living in our colony collected
books and toys to give to the children of an orphanage nearby. I also
gave some of my story books and soft toys. When we distributed them, Body
the children were very excited and happy. Their bright smiles and hugs
expressed their joy. It was a great feeling to give and make them happy.
I would like to know how you spend time with the children there and the
various activities that keep you busy as part of the NGO. Give my regards
to uncle and aunty and love to little Meetu. Do reply soon.
With love, Complimentary closing
