Take three earthen pots and put some soil in each of them. Take a small onion, a small

potato with an eye and a cutting of rose stem. Cover the onion and the potato with
the soil in two separate pots. Insert the rose stem half in the soil kept in the third pot.
Water the pots every day if summer, on alternate days if winter. Observe after 10 days.
How many pots have grown new plants?
