The King asked the courtiers,
“What do you think about all
this?”
One of the courtiers said, “This is
very difficult. If the foal belonged
to Jereko, it would have gone to
his mare.” Another courtier said,
“Your Highness, the elder brother,
Demitr is just being mean. He
should give the foal to his brother
Jereko.” mean unkind and greedy
The King thought for a while. He said, “I will precious valuable
ask you a few questions. Let us find out which pleasing making somebody

softest thing in the world? What is the most precious thing in the
world?”
Demitr wanted to please the King so that he would get the foal. He
said, “That is easy. What can be faster than your horse! What can
be softer than your bed, Lord! What can be more precious than your
prince!”
The King turned towards Jereko. “What do you have to say?” “Well, I
have nothing to say.” He was
simple and did not believe in
pleasing others with untrue
comments.
The King remarked, “It is
better to have no answer
than have a dishonest one.
Let us wait for some time.”
