COMPREHENSION 1

Read the following passage and answer the questions that follow:

Pawan, Keshav and Indu decided to go for a holiday in the mountains. They were

going trekking, so they planned to reach Haridwar first by train. From there, they
would take a bus to Devprayag which is a holy place. It is the place where the two
beautiful rivers, the Alaknanda and the Bhagirathi, meet to form the mighty Ganga.
After that, they would walk to the Valley of Flowers and Hemkund Sahib, the lake
where the highest Gurudwara is located on the banks of the Hemkund Lake. It was
necessary to travel light, but they also had to carry woollen clothes and a blanket
and a raincoat. It would be cold and showers were likely. They wore good walking
shoes, a hat each and from Devprayag they would buy strong walking sticks also.
They carried water and some food. They were looking forward to the adventure!
