COMPREHENSION 1

Read the following story and answer the questions that follow.

Once upon a time there was a little boy named Mike who never smiled.
His parents had tried everything to make him smile. But he always
looked sad. One night he woke up seeing a light in his room. He found

a little fairy had fallen through his window. She was crying. He went
to her and gently asked her, “Who are you? What happened?” “My
name is Shiny. I am a sunflower fairy. A naughty owl chased me and
my wing tore!” sobbed the fairy. Mike picked her up and put some
medicine on her wing. Shiny fell asleep in a cup. In the morning, she

flew to Mike and waved her wand to wake him up. “I am fine now!”
she said happily. Mike smiled. He was so happy to help Shiny. They
became best friends. His parents do not know that Mike has a magical
