Number Patterns

Look at the following number sequences.

1. 2 4 6 8 10 12

2. 5 10 15 20 25 30

3. 10 20 30 40 50 60

4. 1 3 10 18 40

5. 100 101 150 200 500

Can you think, what numbers will come next in the above sequences?

By observing the given sequences, we are able to extend first three

sequences. In the first sequence, numbers are increasing by 2. So,
the next numbers will be 14, 16 and 18.

In the second sequence, numbers are increasing by 5. So, the next

numbers will be 35, 40 and 45.

In the third sequence, numbers are increasing by 10. So, the next
numbers will be 70, 80 and 90.

But, we are not able to find what numbers will come next in the last

two sequences.

Thus, we can say that the numbers in a sequence obey a certain rule
make a number pattern.
