Collection of Data

Data means information in any form. It refers to any particular field.

For example, number of utensils in your kitchen, number of different
fruits or vegetables in your refrigerator, list of stationery items you
need, etc.

Collecting data means to record the information in a readable form.
Usually, we represent the data in tabular form.

Prerak’s Mom is going to the market to buy domestic items for a

month. So she asks Prerak about his requirements for stationery.
Prerak makes a list of requirements as follows:
